How Does It Work?
Your customer would join your company-branded Mobile Promotions program by texting to a phone number. The system of numbering is country-dependent. For example, a customer at Carl’s Jr restaurant in the US could join by texting “Burger” to 22633 (spells bCODE on numeric keypad).
The consumer would get its first welcome bCODE offer via SMS instantly. If the consumer joined at the restaurant, it would be able to scan the first offer to redeem straight away, becoming instantly familiarized with the program.
The system will then optimize future Mobile Promotions communications based on:
1)The set of promotional offers that your marketing department will define on an ongoing basis,
2)The Predictive Purchase Targeting algorithms analyzing ongoing redemption data on an individual level.

bCODE’s MediaPlane platform has been designed to maximize inclusiveness as far as technology standards are concerned. The bCODE itself is based on plain-text SMS, the most pervasive mobile services platform in the world next to voice. The bCODE MediaPlane is backwards compatible as it can print UPC barcodes that are accepted by existing POS systems, as well as emulate a conventional barcode scanner via RS232 or USB. It is also forwards compatible with software and hardware plug-ins to support emerging technologies such as 2D barcodes and NFC.
Operationally, the MediaPlane scanners are cloud-based devices. They are connected to the cloud via 3G or Wi-Fi. Its architecture allows for significant server-side monitoring, reporting and systems management services, enabling bCODE to remotely support the infrastructure without burdening your operations staff.
For example, we can even monitor the number of paper prints left, in MediaPlane configurations where there is a printer, so that we can alert and reminder your staff before it runs out.
In terms of security, the unique an encrypted nature of each bCODE “instance” ensures that no offer can be used twice and no consumer will be able to create its own valid bCODE.
bCODE’s Mobile Promotions architecture is designed to be physically separate from payment systems, in order for its cloud-based service not to intervene with existing PCI-compliant payment systems at Point-of-Sale.
